  • Born in Milford, Onondaga Co., N. Y. Died in 10/06/1900, Clarkston, Mi. Son of John & Cynthia Yeager/Yager of Germany.
  • Wife, Sarah Brown.
  • Children: Frank, George, Emma (Mrs. Petty), Della (Mrs. Chamberlain), & May (Mrs. McMahon).
  • One of Clarkston's early blacksmith's, coming to Michigan in 1854. Served during the Civil War in Battery D, First Michigan Light Artillery. Tax records of 1860 site him with "Van Winkle" for a property on the east side of N. Main St. (west by highway, north by Millard, east by Park/Parke's Lake, south by J. Brown) south of the stream. Later, Yeager had a shop on W. Washington St., south side, behind the building of Milton H. Clark. See Biographical Sketches of Leading Citizens of Oakland, 1903.
